Chuck Masny began his martial arts journey at the age of 13 in the art of American Karate. After earning his black belt in 1997, he soon became curious about the vast world of martial arts beyond Karate and began cross training in both Boxing and Muay Thai. He quickly developed and interest in grappling when he discovered the Japanese martial art of Goshin Jujitsu and it didn’t take long before Chuck was introduced to Brazilian Jiujitsu where he immediately felt as though he found the “missing piece”.
Chuck Masny considers himself an “eternal student of the martial arts” and over the past almost 30 years, he has continuously sought opportunities to broaden his knowledge and skill sets. Through his diverse training background, Chuck has developed an extremely broad skill set for modern day self defense. Along with that, he is also very experienced in several weapons based arts becoming proficient with traditional and modern knife fighting, swordsmanship, and archery.
After many years of competition within several of the combat sport arenas (such as karate, jiujitsu, judo, kickboxing, and MMA), he now focuses most of his time on teaching. Currently, he continues his pursuit of mastery in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under his primary teacher, Professor Mike Budnik, along with continued training in Boxing, Muay Thai, Judo, Wrestling and Kali.
